bikeCOFFEE is transforming and you want to know about it

Dear dtowners,

If you’re like me, and you have perhaps what some might call an obsession or even a fetish for coffee, then you cannot imagine the dtownMARKET without bikeCOFFEE.  First of all, how cool is that, a bike fashioned out of all metal that has come from Durham, that dispenses coffee to the tired and weary of Durham?!?  And not only coffee, but great coffee, tea, chocolates, and spices too!  The couple that is bikeCOFFEE, Areli and Leon, are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their products, and that comes across in the quality of every item they craft.

The reason I am highlighting this particular vendor today, is that today is the official launch of their Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a “coffee, chocolate, spice, and tea lounge,” which will be called Cocoa Cinnamon.  I for one am all too anxious for this dream of theirs to become a reality.

This is how they describe their vision of what they want their shop to be for Durhamites:

It’s been our dream since before bikeCOFFEE  to create a community space around coffee, chocolate, spices and teas called Cocoa Cinnamon.  Call it whatever you’d like – coffee shop, lounge, public house – you know what we mean, that indescribable place that you can depend on as your home away from home.” – Cocoa Cinnamon

If you’ve enjoyed bikeCOFFEE’s coffee, tea, chocolates, or even their engaging conversation at dtownMARKET then please take a look at their kickstarter page and give what you can. (p.s. they have great rewards built in for your donations!) Also a plus for dtowners, they aren’t going far!!! They will be located on the corner of Foster and Geer right across the street from Geer St. Garden.

dtownMARKET is a place for artists, artisans, and designers to grow, and I’m looking forward to witnessing other dtown vendors grow and transform.

Until next time,

Kala (dtownMARKET-ista)

The quiet before the storm. bikeCOFFEE sets up before dtownMARKET and the long line for coffee begins.
